In Luke 4:18, we read that Jesus came to set the captives free. Free from the dominion of darkness and out from under Satan’s rule and slavery. We know that He accomplished this, for on the cross He said “It Is Finished.” In other words if anybody who doesn’t know The Lord still a slave. But if you are a born again christian!
-(Galatians 4:7) “you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.”
-(1 Peter 1:18-19 ) “knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.”
-(Romans 6:17-18) says that we were slave of sin. One whose will is completely swallowed up in the will of another, in this case the devourer is Satan.
WHO IS YOUR MASTER?
-Ephesians 2:2 the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—(satan) who is the father of all lies.. If so… You…indulge the lusts of the flesh,
enjoy the lust of the eye,
and walk in the pride of life.
“There is no such thing as absolute freedom for anyone. No human is free to do everything he or she may want to do. There is one being in the universe who is totally free, of course. That is God. But all others are limited by or enslaved by someone or something. As a result, the only meaningful question in this area is: Who or what are you serving? … Since you and I are human beings and not God, we can never be autonomous. We must either be slaves to sin or slaves of Jesus Christ. But here is the wonderful and very striking thing: To be a slave of Jesus Christ is true freedom.” -James Montgomery Boise
“Slavery to Christ not only means freedom from sin, guilt, and condemnation. It also means freedom to obey, to please God, and to live the way our Creator intended us to live—in intimate fellowship with Him. Thus, “having been freed from sin [we have been] enslaved to God” (Rom. 6:2; cf. 1 Pet. 2:16). Slavery to Christ, then, is the only freedom, for “if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36).” -John MacArthur
-It’s time for all Christians to understand that they have been redeemed; they have been set free by the blood of Jesus from slavery, is so good to be truly FREE in Jesus!!!
-(Romans 6:23) “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
